Worship pole of high fashion

Almost in every Indian village stands a tall totem pole. Also in the southeast coast of China, bird totem poles are often found. These totem poles are tribal signs as well as embodiment of their ancestry and roots.

The lower class has strong admiration for the upper class’ life style; therefore they crave status recognition through symbolic totem consumption. Marie Antoinette, the last princess of France’s Louis Dynasty is such a worship pole in the fashion world. She was infatuated with finery, and her choice of the latest fashion every time would be followed by the other women in the palace, even it eventually led them to bankruptcy.

LV has become a worship pole of high fashion.
